背景

Liver kinase B1 (LKB1), also known as serine/threonine-protein kinase STK11, is a member of the serine/threonine kinase family. LKB1 is a tumor suppressor that helps control cell structure, apoptosis and energy homeostasis through regulation of numerous downstream kinases. Regulates cell polarity by remodeling the actin cytoskeleton, regulates the inhibition of cell growth signaling pathways in response to low energy levels, regulates autophagy in response to nutrient deprivation, and is involved in DNA damage response by differentiating B-cells in the germinal center.
